Jacquie Jantzen - Varsity Softball Coach
Jacquie is entering her 16th year as the Varsity Softball coach after spending 6 years as the JV coach. Coach Jantzen is an enthusiastic and dedicated coach who continues to strive to develop the softball program. During her varsity tenure, her career record is 102-167. Ms. Jantzen also coached for 18 years as the Varsity Volleyball Coach at Clyde-Savannah, but is presently the head volleyball coach at the Marion Central school district.
For the 2010 season, Coach Jantzen's expectations are: "We have a strong nucleus back. Our battery is looking promising. We hope to be a strong contender." Solid defensive play from returning players will help keep the team in the game.
Coach Jantzen is a 1979 graduate of Red Jacket High School where she played field hockey, volleyball, basketball and softball. Jacquie graduated from SUNY Cortland in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Education (physical education/music/dance). During her undergrad years, she participated in field hockey, softball and instrumental music. In 1988 Ms. Jantzen received her Masters Degree from the University of New Mexico.
Coach Jantzen is currently a Physical Education Instructor for the Clyde-Savannah schools. She resides in Farmington, New York with her domestic partner, William Clyde IV and her cat Emma.
Shawn Hino - Modified Softball Coach
Shawn is entering her 10th year as the modified coach. However, she did take a one year hiatus when she had her oldest daughter, Kristin, in 2003. The modified girls softball program has enjoyed many winning seasons under Coach Hino.
For the 2010 season, Coach Hino plans on building on the achievements of the past. She has many talented new-comers, as well as veteran players that have tasted much success.
Coach Hino is a 1993 graduate of Clyde-Savannah where she played tennis, basketball, and softball. Shawn also graduated from SUNY Cortland in 1997, where she participated on the basketball team.
Coach Hino also coaches girls varsity tennis, and modified basketball at C-S.
She has two beautiful daughters, Kristin (6), and Sarah (4).
