Food Services
Cafeteria News

To Parents and Guardians:

The 2009-2010 school year is upon us this year and we have seen many changes in the cafeterias. Having our menus evaluated by a registered dietitian has helped us to revise our menus to meet, and in some areas exceed, our wellness policy. Additionally, having installed a vending machine at the High School has helped to provide your children with healthy snacks during and after school.  In this time of rising costs, the cafeteria staff has made every effort to contain costs. Because of this we will not raise any of our prices this year. As you may or may not be aware, the Food Service department is a self funded program; we do not use your school tax dollars. We are funded through the National School Lunch Program, and monies raised from vending and catering.

Some exciting news is over the summer we are expanding the computerized system for the Food Service department to include all buildings in the district. This will enable you to see what your child is purchasing each day from your home computer. Additionally, you will be able to put money on your child account from home (at a nominal fee), but you can also continue to send money or checks in with your child. We will be sending more information about this system later. I hope to start a quarterly newsletter to keep you informed and up to date with all the new things happening in the department, so keep your eye out for it. If there is ever a question or comment or concern, please feel free to contact me at (315)902-1060 or cscafe@clydesavannah.org. I will get back to you as soon as possible, but if you have an immediate concern, please contact the district office.

                                             Thank you,

                                             Donna Riviello, FSD
