February is Diversity and Inclusion Month. At the Clyde-Savannah Central School District, we are taking time this month to recognize and celebrate the individuality of every student. This school community believes that equal opportunity is essential and that each student brings their own unique strengths, perspectives, and experiences.
Clyde-Savannah continues to foster an environment where openness, inclusivity, and equality guide daily interactions and learning. By embracing diverse backgrounds, values, and viewpoints, the school works to build a strong, supportive community that prepares students to thrive.
Diversity and inclusion extends beyond race or socio-economics into the differences in extracurricular activities and academic focus, hobbies and reading preferences. Our students approach their studies and their lives in their own particular ways, and we want to celebrate that.
Clyde-Savannah's core goal is to "Educate, Inspire, and Empower" learners to meet challenges in a changing world. Here we foster a student-centered community that values diversity, promotes leadership, and ensures a safe environment free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying.
In addition, at the Elementary School, we promote the ROCKS (Respect, Organization, Citizenship, Kindness, and Safety) character traits and recognize students and staff who demonstrate those traits each week.
At the Jr.-Sr. High School, we focus on The Eagle Way (Excellence, Attitude, Growth, Leadership, and Empathy), attributes that students aspire toward in all their academic, extracurricular, and social endeavors.
Our vision is to be a student-centered community that promotes diversity to meet today’s goals and tomorrow’s opportunities. This February, let’s take a moment to celebrate that diversity, to ask questions and seek to understand, to let differences become opportunities to learn and grow.
The following is the C-S Jr.-Sr. High School Diversity and Inclusion statement, which you will see hanging in the hallways and classrooms of the building. It’s a reminder to uphold these values, this and every month.
