🌽 Field Trip to Long Acre Farms! 🌽

Our 7th and 10th grade students went to Long Acre Farms yesterday for a PBIS field trip. They focused on teamwork as they navigated the corn maze, then had a chance to hang out and participate in other activities at the farm. Thanks to Long Acre Farm for hosting our crew for a fun fall day!🍂🎃🍁

💜🥚💜 JR./SR. HS EGG DROP ACTIVITY AT C-S! 💜🥚💜

Recently, our Jr. and Sr. High Schoolers had the chance to participate in an egg drop, a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) activity focused on STEM and teamwork.

Students created an egg lander, a slightly scaled down version of a Martian lander. The activity was in large part provided by the NASA STEM Education Projects Program. Materials were provided to be divided among all teams. After 30 minutes of working on their egg lander, grade levels were called outside to the football field to begin stress testing their engineering creations.

In their teams, students timed the fall of their lander, then used the height of the bleachers to determine their lander's velocity.

It was an engaging way for our students to work together creatively to build and test an original creation. And it was a lot of fun too!

Last week, our Elementary Students had an opportunity to celebrate Fire Prevention Week with our local firefighters. They got to look inside a real fire truck, learned about fire safety, and even had a blast spraying water with a real fire hose!

A huge thank you to our local heroes for teaching our kids about fire safety and protecting our community. We appreciate all that you do! ❤️👨‍🚒👩‍🚒
